Problems with a right of way
Please note, this form is only for reporting issues with a public rights of way, such as a public footpath or bridleway. Please report a problem with a pavement or road here.

Report a dangerous roadside tree 

Cornwall Council has limited powers to act in the case of privately owned trees. If you are concerned about the safety of privately owned trees you should raise your concerns with the landowner. 


Report a problem with a tree

Report an issue with a

  • fallen tree/branch causing a concern on the highway
  • tree encroachment
  • unstable tree
  • dead/dying tree

that present potential safety, obstruction or visibility concerns. 


Work on protected trees

If the tree(s) are protected however you consider the works to be an exception.  For example the works are required:

  • As the tree(s) are dead, dying or dangerous;
  • You are a statutory undertaker

Report a problem with a road or highways

To let us know about a problem you have found with a road or pavement


Report emergency works to a listed building

Please contact the Conservation team for advice before carrying out emergency works. If this is not possible, you can only do emergency works without prior consent in specific circumstances.

A public right of way is a route over land which the public has a legal right to use at any time. Some paths may be surfaced although most are tracks across countryside owned by landowners. These are not highways or roads.
