Top tips to help you prepare for your food hygiene inspection

Every day our food safety officers are out inspecting food businesses around Cornwall to ensure they meet required standards.

The officer will not tell you when the inspection is due to take place. You will be inspected and receive your Food Hygiene rating in an unannounced visit.

Top tips for your next inspection

It is important that you ensure:

  1. your Safer food better business pack is completed and up to date
  2. all staff have a L2 or L3 food hygiene certificate/training in place
  3. you have an allergen system in place and can deal with allergens confidently
  4. training records are up to date
  5. your kitchen is clean and stored food have date labels

But that's not all!

This is not an exhaustive list and there are many other hygiene matters that you must address to achieve compliance and the best hygiene rating.
