On a recent visit to Situ Café in Penryn our Food Safety Officers were so impressed with their hygiene and safety measures we just had to share it!
Situ’s coffee machine has only two steam wands so they decided they will only offer cows milk and one alternative (oat drink). This means they can have a dedicated wand for each which helps prevent allergen cross contamination for their customers.
Situ also uses:
- separate colour coded jugs for milk and alternatives
- separate thermometers and
- dedicated colour coded cloths for cleaning each steam wand
