Strain cost update
As part of the 2025 Triennial Valuation, the Cornwall Pension Fund has implemented updated early retirement factors and funding assumptions from 1 April 2026.
We wrote to employers clarifying how the Fund will apply strain costs to flexible retirement cases over the 1 April 2026 - 31 March 2029 valuation period.
Access and Fairness update
The Government has now published its response to the LGPS Access and Fairness consultation. This confirms important reforms designed to improve fairness, address inequalities, and simplify processes within the LGPS.
Changes will be introduced in phases throughout 2026, with several key measures taking effect from 1 April 2026.
