Car park tickets and permits

Please read our information on how we are supporting residents and businesses, as well as information on affected services.

Car parks are free from Saturday 16 of January 2021 until 17th May 2021

Government advice urges residents to stay local, and to support essential workers.
During this time we want to make it as easy as possible for essential workers to get to and from work. To support them we have removed parking charges and we will keep car parks free until 17th May 2021 to support high streets, when businesses such as non-essential shops, hairdressers and outside hospitality are set to re-open on 12th April 2021.
You do not need to make payment in any Cornwall Council Pay & Display or pay on foot car park until 17th May 2021.
It is really important to;

  • park considerately
  • continue to follow government guidance about travel
  • follow the car park rules shown on the tariff boards
  • do not park in reserved car parks if you do not have a permit.
If you are applying for a disabled exemption you should still submit an application as normal and we will process them as soon as it is possible.

Find out about the different tickets and permits available to buy and use in the Council's car parks.

Season tickets

Season tickets are available for many long stay car parks. If you regularly use the same car park/s in one town, these tickets can provide savings on paying individual daily fees.

Rover tickets

A rover ticket lets you park your car in most (but not all) Council long stay car parks for a single payment.

Coach rover tickets

Coach rover tickets let you park your coach in many different Council car parks in Cornwall.

Resident parking permit

These let you park in a named residents’ only area.

Reserved parking permit

A reserved parking permit lets you park in a reserved space in a specific Council car park.  The permit lasts for 12 months.

Register your vehicle if you have a blue badge and a nil and disabled tax disc

This scheme allows those who have a Blue Badge to park for free in our Pay and Display, and Pay on Exit car parks for a year. To be eligible for the scheme you must have a vehicle registered for NIL/Disabled tax.

Park at a specific site where there are parking restrictions

You can apply for a parking dispensation which lets you park at a specific site where there are parking restrictions. It lasts for up to two weeks. They are only issued in specific, short term circumstances.
