The Cornwall Local Plan


Adopted Cornwall Local Plan 

The local plan is used to:

  • Help decide planning applications

  • Identify where development should and should not go

  • Protect our environment, heritage and landscapes

  • Support economic growth and infrastructure delivery

  • Ensure development contributes to climate resilience and biodiversity net gain

The Cornwall Local Plan is made up of several adopted documents which should be read together:

This document sets out the planning policies and planning strategy for Cornwall.

The community network area sections set out local planning objectives, development priorities and housing and employment growth targets.

The Site Allocations DPD identifies specific sites in selected towns for:

  • Housing

  • Employment

  • Mixed-use development

It also protects some sites for employment uses.
