Current status
We are currently at the scoping stage of preparing the Cornwall Local Plan 2050. This work includes evidence gathering, early engagement and consultation on the proposed scope and direction of the new Local Plan.
Current Consultation
The Regulation 20 scoping and engagement consultation is open from 5 October 2026 to 16 November 2026.

What has happened so far
Community engagement reflection reports
Following community drop-in events a series of reflection reports were prepared summarising what we heard. These reports provide a transparent record of engagement and explain how early feedback is informing the next stages of plan preparation.

Early engagement and community drop-in events
Between September 2025 and February 2026, 24 community drop-in sessions were held across Cornwall in partnership with Creative Kernow. These events provided opportunities for local people to share what they value about their communities and discuss changes they would like to see over the coming decades.
Feedback from these events has helped shape the emerging vision and priorities for the Local Plan.
