A white post-box has been installed at Penmount for anyone who wishes to write to those who they have loved and are no longer with us. This is an opportunity to post a letter to loved ones.
The idea for these post-boxes came from Matilda Handy of Nottingham, who was nine-years old at the time. She was looking for a way to express her emotions after her grandparents passed away. Her beautiful idea has since helped both children and adults to find comfort and healing.
The post box will be looked after by the Penmount staff, therefore there’s no need to pay postage. The contents of the post-box will remain unopened and unread by our staff. They will be composted to support the plant growth and wildlife within our grounds.
The post-box is located at the bottom of Charles Henderson Walk, which is opposite our Kernow Chapel.
