Beach Dune Management Plans
This is a pressing concern as these sand dunes and their associated sandy beaches are one of the most important resources in Cornwall due to:
Their role in providing protection against the risk of coastal flooding due to the dynamic nature of beach-dune interactions and their sheer size preventing the sea from impacting upon the hinterland behind the dune systems....Their role in providing access to the sea for residents and visitors alike, which is vital to the holiday industry, upon which a significant proportion of Cornwall’s economy depends....For each Beach Dune management Plan (BDMP) a four stage approach has been used:
Baseline understanding
Define issues and objectives
Develop future management options
Reporting
The 10 BDMP locations are: Constantine Bay, Fistral Beach, Harvey's Towans, Marazion, Par Sands, Porthcothan, Porthtowan, Praa Sands, Summerleaze and Widemouth Bay.

Highways Act 1980 Section 31(3) and Section 31(5)
In circumstances where defined physical routes exist (i.e. access tracks, or worn strips through fields) the Act requires notices to be directed at those using the way....Particularly the date when erected and by whom....Ideally, the notice should provide evidence, either by including a date, or if necessary to replace a sign because it has weathered, or fallen down.

Where you can and cannot cycle in the countryside
The following information has been taken from the Countryside Access cycling information sheet....As well as walkers and horse riders, you may meet occasional vehicles that also have right of access....There may be existing rights or traditions that allow you to cycle on or through some access land – for example along a bridleway but you need to check first.
