75% of our service is provided by our on-call firefighters. They provide an incredible commitment across the 31 stations within Cornwall.
On-call firefighters have everyday lives and jobs until their alerter sounds. Then they become professional firefighters, responding to a range of operational incidents when required. Being a firefighter is not just about fighting fires. An important part of today's service is fire and road safety prevention, education and safeguarding. When an emergency does occur, our firefighters are fully trained and equipped to deal with a range of emergencies, including fires, road traffic collisions, flooding and other emergency situations.
