Follow our step by step guide to arrange your Classic or Simple wedding ceremony.

Step 1 - Contact us

Contact us on 0300 1234 181 to book your Ceremony Registrars. You will need to pay us a deposit. We will then send you a confirmation of booking letter.

Step 2 - Book an appointment at your local Registration Office

Book your Notice of Marriage/Notice of Civil Partnership appointment at your local Registration Office. If you live in Cornwall, please call us on 0300 1234 181. You can book this up to 12 months prior to your ceremony and normally no less than 28 days before (or 70 days in some circumstances).

Step 3 - Pay for your ceremony

Pay any outstanding balance for your ceremony. You may do this by card, cheque (made payable to Cornwall Council) or cash at your 'notice' appointment if you are attending a Cornwall Registration Office. Alternatively you can telephone 0300 1234 181 and pay by card. Please ensure that full payment is made at least 28 days in advance of your ceremony date.

Step 4 - Personalise your ceremony

Take a look at the preferences sheet included in your confirmation pack and decide on how you wish to personalise your ceremony. These will be confirmed with you on the day.

Step 5 - On the day

Classic Ceremonies

On the day, Partner 1 should meet us 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time, and Partner 2 should meet us 10 minutes prior. Your ceremony registrar will then run through some pre-ceremony questions with you both and answer any questions you may have.

Simple Ceremonies

Arrive at the Registration Office for the start time of your ceremony. Your ceremony registrar will then run through some pre-ceremony questions with you both and will ask you which choice of wording you wish to use.
