Special Educational Needs File
Cornwall Council’s ‘Special Educational Needs File’ is designed to support Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) and other professionals in meeting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN). It is also a source of information for parents / carers and young people.
Statutory guidance and local strategies inform the work of Cornwall Council regarding SEND, these include:
- The SEND Code of Practice 2015
The SEND Code of Practice provides statutory guidance relating to Part 3 of the Children and Families Act. - Cornwall's Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy
Cornwall's SEND strategy sets out Cornwall Council's priorities relating to SEND. Read the full strategy and others on our Strategies and Policies web page. - The One Vision Partnership Plan
This plan sets the foundation for a Children and Young People Transformation Plan 2017-2020, which will shape the future integration of education, health and social care services for children, young people and their families in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The SEN File will evolve over time to respond to the needs of SENCOs and other professionals who work with children and young people with SEN.
Feedback on the SEN File is very welcome; please send your comments to us using our contact details.
