If you don't have valid photo ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate
Residents will need to show photographic ID to vote in the Cornwall Council and town and parish council elections May 1, 2025.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight on April 11, and if you want to cast your ballot at a polling station you must take your photo ID with you.

For the 2017 Election there were 122 Electoral Divisions, each electing one Cornwall councillor, except for the Bude division which elects two Cornwall councillors.

Voting by post
New rules now apply for handing in postal votes at elections.
Reapplying for a postal vote
Postal voters are now required to reapply for their postal vote every three years.
Anyone who applied before 31 October 2023 must reapply for their postal vote by 31 January 2026. If a new application is not received by this date, the postal vote will be cancelled.

We have major elections in 2024 and 2025. We often have by-elections and referendums too. The major elections will be:
Police and Crime Commissioner Election on Thursday 2 May 2024.
UK Parliamentary General Election by January 2025, but it could happen in 2024.

The Annual Conversation 2021
