Giant Hogweed
Giant Hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is a large member of the carrot family. It was brought to the UK as an ornamental plant from south eastern Europe. It is generally found near watercourses and in damp meadows, and it can also be found on waste ground. It is highly invasive. Each plant can produce up to 50,000 seeds which can survive for up to 15 years.

New public health report calls on all residents and organisations in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to help end child poverty
The heads of public health and children’s services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have issued an urgent call to action to tackle child poverty in our communities.

A Habitat Bank (or Biodiversity Gain Site) is land managed to:
create or
enhance habitats
generating biodiversity units. These units, developers can purchase to meet Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements. This supports nature recovery and offers landowners a new income stream.
Please be aware, the Council will not promote or encourage the purchase of Biodiversity Units from any particular habitat bank over another.
