Building Control retain applications for 15 years from the completion of works. Copies of documents may be requested by the owner, or owners legal representative. This can be done by emailing buildingcontrol@cornwall.gov.uk.
A fee will be payable for copies of documents.
Due to the nature of older paper records not all records maybe available. Applications since 2010 start with BC. Applications before 2010 will be prefixed with W1 (Penwith), W2 (Kerrier), C1 (Carrick), E1 (North Cornwall) and E2 (Caradon). The amount of paper and/or electronic data will vary between each District Council.
A printout of the records and important dates can be made from the online register.
Our online search does not replace a full Land Charges search. We take no responsibility for errors/omissions in the information returned via our our online search.
Applications ending UAW are alleged unauthorised building works. This is where a valid application has not been received. These are revealed in the interest of public safety. Alleged unauthorised works prior to 2023 were not recorded in a manner that can be revealed.
