Explore your care and support options
There are many different ways to arrange and pay for care, that include:
- self-funding
- direct payments
- Individual Service Funds (ISFs)
- and commissioned service
These options allow you to have control over your care, choose service providers that suit your needs, and make arrangements that work best for you.
If you choose Direct Payments, you can use managed accounts and payroll help to make managing your care easier. There is also support to help you find personal assistants (PAs). These services give you more control and flexibility over your care.
Creating a care plan means choosing support that best fit your needs.
By combining traditional care with voluntary and community support, you can create a flexible plan that addresses your physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being.
What to do if you don’t have a care and support plan in place
If your independence and wellbeing are at significant risk, we’ll arrange to visit you.
- We will carry out a needs assessment to look at your eligible social care needs
- We’ll work out a personal budget so you can organise and buy your own care and support via an agreed support plan. This gives you choice and control over the support you get
- Your support plan could include care at home, short term care, minor home adaptations, loaning you equipment and more
You can use our eligibility checker to see if you could receive financial assistance.
We’ll also carry out a financial assessment to see whether you’ll need to pay something towards your care and support.
