The Forestry Commission have made a Woodland Creation Support Map which shows how we are all working together to plant trees.
Forest for Cornwall has joined up with a number of partner organisations so that we can all work together to plant trees across Cornwall. We also share what we learn from projects to make our work as effective as possible.
The Partnership aims to empower and support our communities, landowners, and farmers to plant trees through all kinds of projects.
The NFU welcomes the opportunity to be part of the Forest for Cornwall Partnership. It enables us to work collaboratively over the management of land for food production, tree planting, and biodiversity gain. The F4C is supporting farmers and land managers in tree and hedgerow planting. This will add to the rich mosaic of farming and habitat management already found in Cornwall’s environment.
Confor is a, not-for-profit, UK membership organisation that promotes sustainable forestry and wood-using businesses. We represent the whole forestry and wood supply chain from seed to structure. We help build the market for wood and wood products. We also assist in creating a supportive policy environment and help members to become more competitive and successful.
The Duchy of Cornwall, via its Natural Capital and Net Zero Carbon projects, is actively increasing tree and woodland cover on its land in Cornwall. It is working with multiple partners, including Forest for Cornwall, with the delivery of this.
The Kernow Glassa (Greener Cornwall) project (supported by the Green Recovery Challenge Fund) is working actively across the county to promote Nature Recovery. We are increasing and improving habitats on our own reserves, increasing volunteer opportunities and developing our understanding of nature recovery. Our aim is to create bigger, better-connected habitats throughout Cornwall. One of the many ways we are achieving this is through supporting partners such as Forest for Cornwall to increase tree canopy across Cornwall.
Cornwall AONB are involved in a wide range of tree and woodland related projects across Cornwall’s Nationally Protected Landscape. This includes feeding back on proposed woodland creation schemes and detailed mapping of our hedgerows. We also support a wide range of nature and climate friendly projects through the Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme. We are committed to supporting the Forest for Cornwall through advice, signposting and delivery.
