Private fostering
What is private fostering?
Private fostering is when a child or young person under 16 years old (or 18 if they have a disability) is looked after for 28 days or more by someone who is not a close relative, legal guardian or person with parental responsibility. It is not private fostering if the arrangement was made by social care.

Education information for HM Service Personnel, Veterans and their families
The Covenant set the following goals for Education:
Children of members of the Armed Forces should have the same standard of, and access to, education (including early years services) as any other citizen in the area where they live.
There should be special arrangements to support access to schools if a place is required part way through an academic year as a result of a family having to move for Service reasons.

Japanese knotweed
Japanese knotweed (scientific name Fallopia japonica) is sometimes known locally as 'donkey rhubarb'. It first came to the UK in the mid 19th century as a garden plant. Since then it has become a serious problem. Particularly on roadsides, riverbanks and derelict land. It prevents our native plants from growing and causes structural damage. In the photo on the right you can see knotweed growing through concrete blocks.

Be a safer pedestrian
Over 30,000 children have been killed or seriously injured in the last 10 years on Britain's roads (AXA RoadSafe report). In Cornwall, we have found that more often than not it is the fault of the pedestrian.
