Green Schools
Cornwall Council was inspired by the Amsterdam Impulse School Playground programme.
They looked at increasing access to green space and enhancing resilience by reducing the hard surfaces in urban playgrounds.

International health controls are in place to prevent the spread of infectious disease into Britain fro:

seafarers
passengers
Over 150 vessels are boarded annually by officials of the Cornwall Port Health Authority to understand the health status on board. Particular attention is given to ships arriving from infected areas where diseases such as yellow fever, cholera and plague are prevalent.

Council committed to finding a way forward with Royal Cornwall Museum
Cornwall Council recognises the importance of the Royal Cornwall Museum (RCM) to residents and visitors in telling the story of the Duchy.

Air link between Cornwall and London secured in new deal

Cornwall’s primary air link with London will resume on December 15 with Eastern Airways operating daily services between Cornwall Airport Newquay and London Gatwick.

Council acts on community support for reducing speed limit to 20mph in residential areas
Work has begun to install signs and road markings in Falmouth and Penryn, and Camelford, reflecting community support in those areas to reduce the speed limit on residential roads from 30mph to 20mph.
Residents in those areas were consulted on the plans to encourage drivers to slow down by reducing speed limits to 20mph on more roads, except on those where there is a clear need to retain the current speed limit.

Round of a-paws for Cornwall’s award-winning dog welfare team
Cornwall Council’s dog welfare and enforcement officers have been recognised for the outstanding care they provide lost and abandoned pets.
The Council’s stray dog service has for the 12th year running received the RSPCA’s Gold Standard PawPrints award, which is given to local authorities and organisations for going above and beyond.

We want to hear from people working in Cornwall’s creative industries
Anyone working in Cornwall’s creative industries - from fashion designers and filmmakers to artists and architects - are being asked to complete a short online survey.
