Computers for beginners

If you’re feeling left behind when it comes to computers, there are lots of places you can make a start. It’s never too late to learn.

Here are some ideas for getting started:

Learn My Way

If you can do the basics and can use email the Learn My Way free online courses will take you further.

Learn My Way courses are short (20 to 40 minute) courses helping you to use the computer and to make the most of the internet. They are free of charge.

You will need to register on the website to take part in most courses. Click on the ‘Register for full access button’. Choose ‘I am being supported by an online centre’ when prompted. Then use our centre number 3420931.

Adult Education

Adult Education provides essential digital skills support to help you use your device to:

  • get online safely
  • keep in touch
  • make online transactions
  • create and edit documents
  • plus much more

Learning at the library

All our libraries have public computers where you can access the internet.

If you have a library card there is also access to a whole Digital World including:

  • daily national newspapers
  • magazines
  • books for a whole age range
  • learn a language

plus a whole lot more.
