The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) is the main body for the disabled children's sector in England, with links to other UK nations.

A UK-wide charity providing support, advice and information for families with disabled children


Disability Cornwall
Disability Cornwall provide a range of services to help and support independent living and when necessary, act as a representative voice for disabled people, their families and carers.


Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Children
A benefit for providing extra care, attention or supervision for a child because of their disability.


Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM)
Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) is a consortium campaign run by four national organisations working with disabled children and their families - Contact a Family, the Council for Disabled Children, Mencap and the Special Educational Consortium. Between them, the campaign partners represent over 800,000 disabled children and young people in the UK.
EDCM was established in September 2006 and continues to campaign to raise the political profile of disabled children and their families within central and local government.

National Autistic Society

National Deaf Children's Society
Provides information and advice on all aspects of childhood deafness.  Telephone 0808 800 8880


Over The Wall - Fun Camp
Over The Wall (OTW) is a national UK children's charity. They provide free of charge camps to children with life-limiting illnesses.


Parent Carer Council for Cornwall
The Parent Carer Council aims to provide parents of disabled children and children with additional needs with a "voice" in Cornwall. The Parent Carer Council aims to ensure parent participation in service planning and delivery and campaigns locally and nationally to improve services for children with additional needs.


Preparing for Adulthood
The Preparing for Adulthood programme (PfA) is funded by the Department for Education as part of the delivery support for the SEN and disability reforms.


Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB)
There are around two million people in the UK with sight problems and RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) is the leading charity offering practical support, advice and information to anyone with a sight problem. Their pioneering work helps - not just with braille, Talking Books and computer training but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges.  Telephone 0303 123 9999
