Wholetime transferees

Applications for wholetime transferees are now closed.  If you have submitted an application you will be informed of the results during the week commencing 13 January 2025.  Please see below for information on the next steps.

Our wholetime transferee recruitment aims to create a pool of candidates available to fulfil substantive wholetime firefighter vacancies as and when they arise. Please note gaining a place within this pool does not guarantee a position.

Wholetime transferee recruitment is open to:

  • on-call firefighters from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) who are currently competent in post
  • wholetime competent firefighters from out-of-county fire and rescue services (local authority)
  • on-call firefighters who are competent from out-of-county fire and rescue services (local authority)
  • on-call firefighters from within CFRS who are due to take their final stage review before 31/05/2025.

We will review CFRS applicants’ PDR profile when they apply. Non-CFRS applicants will need to provide evidence of compliance at point of application. This will include the following areas:

  • Breathing apparatus
  • Fitness assessment
  • Medical

Applicants must not hold any current disciplinary sanctions.

For information on the recruitment for wholetime transferees:

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has adopted the Core Code of Ethics for Fire and Rescue Services. CFRS is committed to the Code's ethical principles. We strive to apply them in all we do. Therefore, they are reflected in this recruitment process.
