Help us make our roads safer for everyone
Reducing deaths and injuries on our roads is a shared responsibility.
- It’s not just motorcyclists who need to slow down. It’s not just car drivers needing to check twice before pulling out of a junction.
- It’s not just pedestrians needing to check before they cross a road. It’s not just the tired driver trying to get home.
- It’s not just the young driver showing off to his mate, or the tractor that’s holding up the traffic.
- It's not just Cornwall Council who need to maintain the roads, or Devon & Cornwall Police who need to enforce and educate those who fall short of the standard of behaviour expected on our roads.
Its for all of us!
To make our roads safer, we must work together as a community to change the way we use them.
Each year, an average of 20 people lose their lives in road collisions in Cornwall. Let's all do our part and look out for one another.
Even if you know the road well, you never know what - or who - might be on it, or what they might do.
To help spread key road safety messages, and get to the grassroots of our communities, Cornwall Council has worked with communities and the Vision Zero South West Partnership to create a road safety toolkit.
You can download resources, such as pictures and suggested text, to share in your social media chat groups with friends and family, where you work, in your community groups, or anywhere you think people will see and engage with these messages.
