The list below shows the current known service disruptions for bus and rail services within Cornwall.

Bus service disruptions 

Road Closure – West End, Penryn

6 January to 14 April 2025

West End will be closed between the 6 January and the 14 April.  During the closure period First Buses U1/U1A/U1E, U2, U4 and OTS services 42 and 69/69A towards Falmouth will divert via Browns Hill and Commercial Road to Penryn Bridge and will not serve stops on West End, West Street, Lower Market Street and Broad Street.  Buses from Falmouth won’t be affected and will operate their normal routes. 

Road Closure – Singlerose Roundabout, Stenalees

13 January to 28 February 2025

Due to a closure on the B3274 at Singlerose Roundabout between the 13 January and the 28 February Go-Cornwall service 26 will be unable to serve its usual route between Roche, Higher Trezaise and Stenalees. The service will divert from Cornwall Services via the A30, Lockengate, Bugle and B3374 into Penwithick towards St Austell.  Journeys from St Austell to Bodmin won’t be affected and will operate their usual route.

A connecting shuttle bus will be provided operating from Cornwall Services to serve Roche, Roche Road to Bugle, Stenalees, Treverbyn where the bus will continue via the A391 to Stenalees and B3274 to Trezaise, Roche and Cornwall Services.

Road Closures – Truro

From 3 February to 7 April 2025

Between the 3 February and the 7 April there will be a series of road closures in the centre of Truro which will impact on bus services.

3 February to 3 March 2025

Kenwyn Street and Little Castle Street will be closed. This will affect all outbound bus services running via Victoria Square and Little Castle Street towards Richmond Hill and Station Road.  Buses will divert via St Austell Street and St Clement Street to Ferris Town where they will resume their normal route.  The stop at Victoria Square won’t be served.  In addition the Park and Ride service towards Langarth will be unable to serve the stop on Quay Street and Victoria Square.  Stops towards Tregurra at River Street and Quay Street are unaffected.

3 March to 7 April

Further closures on River Street and Victoria Square will mean all inbound and outbound services running via Victoria Square, River Street and Boscawen Street will divert via St Austell Street and St Clement Street.  The Park and Ride service to Langarth and Tregurra will be unable to use the stops on River Street, Victoria Square and Quay Street.

Temporary stops will be in place on St Clement Street.

Road Closure – Halwyn Road, Crantock

3 to 28 February 2025

Due to sewer connection works there will be a closure on Halwyn Road between the 3 and 28 February, weekends included.  During the closure Go-Cornwall service 85 and First Bus service U1E will operate diversions under revised timetable.  School bus contracts will be allowed through the closure and operate their normal routes. Road Closure – Boscathnoe Lane, Madron 

10 to 17 February 2025

There will be closures on Boscathnoe Lane weekdays only between the hours of 0730 and 1700 from the 10 to the 17 February.  During the closure period First Buses service 17 from Penzance will operate to Madron then to Boscathnoe Way turning at Hill Close.  It will then  run back to Heamoor Roundabout and via the A30 Mount Misery to Tremethick Cross where it will resume its normal route.  Towards Penzance the reverse will operate.  

School buses will have access through the closure and operate their normal routes.

Road Closure - Quenchwell Road, Carnon Downs

10 February to 21 March 2025

Quenchwell Road will be closed between the 10 February and the 21 March.  During the closure period First Buses L1 and L2 will be diverted via the A39 and A390.  Passengers are advised to use stops in Carnon Downs.

Road Closure – School Road Harrowbarrow

13 – 17 February 2025

Due to an emergency road closure Go Cornwall service 79 unable to serve Metherell and Nerris Green. Buses will divert from Harrowbarrow via Springfield Villas. Road Closure – South Road, Goldsithney

17 to 18 February 2025

South Road at Goldsithney will be closed between 0930 and 1600 on the 17 and 18 February.  During the closure period First Buses service U4 operate via the A394 INTO South Road where it will turn at St Pirans Hall.  Stops in the centre of Goldsithney won’t be served.

Road Closure – Valley Road, Bude

17 to 19 February 2025

Valley Road will be closed between 0730 and 1700 from the 17 to the 19 February.  During the closure period Go-Cornwall services 128 and 219 will divert via Killerton Road and not serve stops on Valley Road.

Road Closure – St Marys Road, Par

17 to 21 February 2025

There will be closures on St Marys Road between 0730 and 1700 from the 17 to the 21 February.  During the closure period First Bus service 24 towards Par will continue via Biscovey Lane to the A390, then after The Four Lords via Trenovissick Lane where it will resume its normal route.  Towards St Austell the reverse will operate.  Stops on St Marys Road won’t be served.  Passengers are advised there will be a temporary bus stop by Biscovey Post Office.

Overnight Road Closure – B3254 Yeolmbridge to St Stephens

20 February - 1 March between 7pm to 6am

The B3254 between Launceston to Stratton is closed at Yelombridge overnight 1900 – 0600. During the closure hours the Go Cornwall service 12 will be on diversion via the A388 to Holsworthy in both directions. For further information refer to the Transport for Cornwall website.

Road Closure - Dunders Hill, Polzeath

17 February – 3 March 2025

Due to the closure of Dunders Hill, Polzeath the Go Cornwall service 96 will be on diversion. Service will be maintained to Polzeath with buses entering and leaving Polzeath via Treberthick. School buses will operate as normal. For details of the revised timetable contact Go-Cornwall Bus.

Road Closure - A3047, Scorrier

17 February – 4 March 2025

Go Cornwall 88

Due to a road closure, buses are unable to serve along the A3047 in Scorrier between 1900 – 0600 17th February – 4th March 20205.

Journeys from Redruth to Goonhaven at 1855 will divert via Cardrew Industrial Estate & A30 to Blackwater. 

Journeys from Newquay to Redruth at 1900 & 2000, will not serve Blackwater and will divert from Chiverton Cross, A30 to Avers Roundabout to continue on to Cardrew Industrial Estate.

Road Closure - Well Lane, St Cleer

18 February 2025

Well Lane will be closed between 0930 and 1530 on the 18 February.  During the closure hours Go-Cornwall service 74 will divert to Fore Street via Halbathick in both directions and will not serve Lower Tremar, Tremar and Well Lane.

Road Closure – A392 Mount Joy to Whitecross

19 February 2025

The A392 will be closed between 0930 and 1630 on the 19 February.  During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 21 will be unable to serve Nansledan, Quintrell Downs, Mount Joy and White Cross, diverting via the A3059, Trekenning and A39 St Columb Road in both directions.  Please confirm with First Buses the diversion for T3.

Rail Service Disruptions

Network Rail Maintenance

From May, train timetables will only be available for 6 weeks instead of the usual 12 weeks. This is expected to be the case for 6 months due to planned engineering projects across the country.
