Planned Public Transport Service Disruptions


The list below shows the current known service disruptions for bus and rail services within Cornwall.

Road Closure – Kergilliack Road, Falmouth

4 March to 26 April 2024

Kergilliack Road will be closed between the 4 March and 26 April.  During the closure period OTS service 35A will be unable to serve stops on Kergilliack Road and Hillhead Road.  During the closure diversions will depend on the amount of traffic on the Penryn By-Pass. 

Passengers from Kergilliack Road should go to the stop opposite Falmouth Football Club for services 35, 64 and 65 towards Falmouth.  For services to Helston passengers should go to the stop opposite Falmouth School.   

Road Closure – Sandy Lane, Redruth

6 March to 17 May 2024

Due to roadworks Sandy Lane will be closed from the 6 March until the 17 May  During the closure buses will be unable to serve Sandy Lane and will divert as follows:

Go-Cornwall Service 34: Towards Helston will divert via Station Hill and Falmouth Road.  Towards Redruth the service will divert via Clinton Road, Heanton Terrace and Albany Road to Redruth Railway Station.

Go-Cornwall Service 36S: Will divert via South Downs, Clinton Road, Heanton Terrace, Albany Road and Redruth Railway Station.

Go-Cornwall Service 40: In the evening will be diverted in both directions via Redruth Railway Station, Albany Road, Heanton Terrace and Clinton Road.

Road Closure – Wheal Rose

From 21 March 2024 Ongoing

Due to roadworks the road at Wheal Rose is currently closed.  During the closure period Hopleys service 315 is operating under diversion via Skinner’s Bottom and not serving stops at Wheal Rose.

Road Closure – Trevilla, Feock

22 to 25 April 2024

Due to resurfacing works there will be closures in the Trevilla area between the 22 and 25 April.  Travel Cornwall service 493 will operate under diversion turning at Harcourt Turn.  This will also apply to the school service should the emergency sewer closure still be in place.

Road Closure – Tredrea Lane, St Erth

22 April to 3 May 2024

Tredrea Lane will be closed between the 22 April and the 3 May.  During the closure period Go-Cornwall Service 15 from Penzance will operate along Gwallon Lane and Rospeath Lane to Crowlas Crossroads, then via the A30 to St Erth Station, then via the A30 and B3301 to Chennalls Road, St Erth where it will turn and follow its usual route into Hayle.  From Hayle the reverse will operate.  Stops at Treloweth Close won’t be served.

Overnight Road Closure – Fore Street and Tyringham Road, Lelant

22 April for up to 10 days

Due to resurfacing works Fore Street and Tyringham Road at Lelant will be closed overnight from 1900 on weekdays only from the 22 April for up to approximately 10 days.  During the closure period First Buses services 17, 17A, T2, T3 and Land’s End Coaster will towards St Ives at Lelant Roundabout divert via Lelant Downs and the B3311 and Higher Stennack to St Ives Bus Station.  From St Ives the reverse will operate.  During the closure buses will be unable to serve Carbis Bay and Lelant.   

Road Closure – Green Lane Hill, Gulval

22 April to 10 May 2024

Green Lane Hill will be closed between 0730 to 1800 from the 22 April to the 10 May on weekdays only.  During the closure Go-Cornwall services 16/16A will divert via Jelbert Way, going into Sainsburys towards Eastern Green and Posses Lane into Gulval.  School journeys will have access through the closure.

Weekend Road Closure – A30 

26 to 29 April 2024

On Saturday the 27 April the A30 will be closed at Zelah and all through journeys between Newquay and Truro will divert after Zelah via Carland Cross and the A39 into Truro.  From Truro the reverse will operate.  During this closure Shortlanesend and the Kenwyn area will only be served by the 85 short workings to Shortlanesend and Allet will have no service.  For further information and revised timings please refer to the Go-Cornwall website.

Road Closures – Trevithick Day, Camborne

27 April 2024

During Trevithick Day there will be a series of road closures in the centre of Camborne between 0730 and 1830.  Please check with your bus operator regarding diversions.

Overnight Closure – A39 Carnon Downs to Playing Place

29 April to 3 May 2024

Due to resurfacing works the A39 between Carnon Downs and Playing Place will be closed overnight from 1900 on the 29 April to the 3 May.  During the closure period First Buses service U1/U1A/U1E will operate under diversion.  From Falmouth buses will divert at Carnon Downs via the unclassified road to Dangerous Crossing at Chacewater then via Greenbottom and the A390 to Arch Hill and then into Truro.  From Truro the reverse will operate.  Buses will be unable to serve The Forge bus stop in Carnon Downs and Playing Place during the closure.

Road Closure – Dobbs Lane

29 April to 3 May 2024

Dobbs Lane will be closed between the 29 April and the 3 May. During the closure period Travel Cornwall service 485 will operate under diversion via Station Hill and will not serve stops on Dobbs Lane.  For further information please contact Travel Cornwall.

Road Closure – Whitewell Road, St Teath

29 April to 1 May 2024

Due to utility works there will be a closure on Whitewell Road between the 29 April and the 1 May.  During the closure Go-Cornwall service 95 will operate under diversion between St Kew Highway and St Teath via the A39 and will not serve Trelill.

From May, train timetables will only be available for 6 weeks instead of the usual 12 weeks. This is expected to be the case for 6 months due to planned engineering projects across the country.
