Road Closure – Wheal Rose
From 21 March 2024 Ongoing
Due to road works the road at Wheal Rose is currently closed. During the closure Hopleys service 315 is operating under diversion via Blackwater and not serving stops at Wheal Rose. Passengers from Wheal Rose will need to catch the bus near the Crossroads Care Home.
Road Closure – Nine Maidens to Penmarth
7 May to 30 July 2024
The road between Nine Maidens and Penmarth is currently closed. OTS service 42 is diverting between Goonlaze and Nine Maidens. From Falmouth at Goonlaze buses are operating to Wheal Buller, then via the B3297 to Four Lanes and Nine Maidens where the bus turns to rejoin the normal route to Four Lanes. Towards Truro the reverse is operating. During the closure buses are unable to serve Penmarth.
Road Closure – Penmarth to Carnkie
27 June to 11 August 2024
Due to utility works the road between Penmarth and Carnkie will be closed between the 27 June and the 11 August. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 36 to Helston School will operate under diversion via the main road and will be unable to serve Penmarth. Students are advised to catch the bus at the Gravel Pits or Crellow Lane.
Road Closure - Camelford A39 (Fore Street)
1 July - ongoing
Camelford A39 (Fore Street) is closed due to an unsafe building. All services will divert Via B3266 between Camelford Station and Valley Truckle. Go Cornwall Bus services 95, 96, 96A & 97 will serve Clease Road and turn at the car park. Please confirm details with the operator.
Overnight Road Closure - Normandy Way Bodmin
15 to 25 July 2024
19:00 until 06:00. The last 96A service to Bodmin will be unable to serve Normandy Way and will operate from Sainsburys to Asda then the depot. No service to Mount Folly or Bodmin General.
Overnight Road Closure Station Road and Richmond Hill, Truro
18 to 31 July 2024
Due to resurfacing works Station Road and Richmond Hill will be closed overnight from 1900 on weekdays only between the 18 and 31 July. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 40 and First Buses services T1, T2, T3, U1, U1A, U1E will operate under diversion.
First Buses U1, U1A, U1E: Buses will operate via Lemon Street and the A390 to and from Newquay.
First Buses T1, T2, T3: Buses will operate via the A390 and Morlaix Avenue to the bus station.
Go-Cornwall 40: Buses will operate via Lemon Street and the A390 to and from Redruth.
During the closure hours buses, including the park and ride service will be unable to serve stops at Boscawen Street, Victoria Square, River Street, Ferris Town and on Richmond Hill and Station Road, including the rail station stop.
Road Closure – School Road, Summercourt
22 to 26 July 2024
School Road will be closed between the 22 and 26 July. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 90 will divert via Chapel Town.
Road Closure – Trefula Road, St Day
24 July 2024 ongoing
Due to surface dressing works Trefula Road will be closed between 0730 and 1700 on the 24 July. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 40 will divert via the A393, Mount Ambrose and the B3298 between Redruth and St Day in both directions and will not serve stops on St Day Road.
Update 26 July- The road is currently open and buses have resumed their normal route. There will be a further inspection of the road today 26 July pm, if there are no issues the road will remain open over the weekend, the closure will resume if there are. There will be further closures on the road to complete the works on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 July, during which times buses will operate on diversion.
Road Closure – Portloe
24 to 26 July 2024
Due to roadworks there will be a closure in the centre of Portloe between the 24 and 26 July. During the closure period Travel Cornwall service 51 will be unable to serve Portloe and will turn the bus at Treviskey and Broom Parc Turning.
Emergency Road Closure – Chapel Road, Indian Queens
26 July 2024 ongoing
Due to a burst water pipe Chapel Road is currently closed. First Buses service T3 and Go-Cornwall services 21 and 90 are operating under diversion, please confirm details with the operator.
Bude Pride – The Strand, Bude
27 July 2024
Due to the Bude Pride parade there will be a rolling road closure between 1200 and 1300 along The Strand. Delays are expected to bus services.
Road Closure – Delabole Carnival
27 July 2024
Due to Delabole Carnival the road through Delabole will be closed between 1800 and 2100 on the 27 July. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 96 will divert via Westdowns and St Teath to and from Camelford and will not serve stops in Delabole.
Road Closure – Indian Queens Carnival
27 July 2024
Due to Indian Queens Carnival there will be a series of road closures in Indian Queens between 1800 and 1930 on the 27 July. There will be delays and diversions to First Buses service T3 and Go-Cornwall services 21 and 90. Please confirm details with your operator.
Road Closure – Perranporth Carnival
27 July 2024
Due to the Perranporth Carnival there will be road closures in Perranporth between 1845 and 2100 on the 27 July. During the closure period First Buses will operate the following diversions:
Service U1A and U1E Newquay to Truro: The 1812, 1900 and 2000 departures from Newquay will operate to Perran Sands entrance where they will turn and run to Goonhavern, then via the A3075, then the B3277 to Goonbell where they will turn right to the B3285 and then resume their normal route through St Agnes.
Service U1A and U1E Truro to Newquay: The 1835 and 2031 departures from Truro will operate as normal to St Agnes and then turn right to Goonbell and then via the B3277 and A3075 to Goonhavern where they will operate to the Perran Sands entrance and turn before resuming their normal route.
During this period stops in Perranporth won’t be served.
Road Closure – Truro Classic Car Show
27 and 28 July 2024
There will be closures on Lower Lemon Street from 1600 on Saturday 27 to 1730 on Sunday 28 July and on Boscawen Street between 0730 and 1730 on Sunday 28 July.
During the closure, on Saturday after 1600 Travel Cornwall will be unable to use the Lemon Quay stop, please confirm diversion with operator.
On Sunday all inbound bus services from the railway station direction will divert via St Austell Street and will not serve the Museum and Boscawen Street stops. Outbound services towards the railway station from the bus station will operate via St Austell Street and will still serve Victoria Square.
Overnight Road Closure – A3047 Scorrier
28 July to 2 August 2024
Due to resurfacing works the A3047 at Scorrier will be closed overnight from 1900 between the 28 July and the 2 August. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 88 towards Redruth will divert at Chiverton Interchange via the A30 to Avers Roundabout.
Road Closure – Helebridge Road, Marhamchurch
29 July to 9 August 2024
Helebridge Road will be closed between the 29 July and the 9 August. During the closure period Go-Cornwall services 128 and 373 will be diverted via Pinch Hill towards the church to the A39 in both directions. Stops on Helebridge Road wont’ be served.
Road Closure – Mount Pleasant Road, Camborne
29 July to 9 August 2024
Due to roadworks Mount Pleasant Road will be closed on weekdays only between the 29 July and the 9 August. During the closure period Go-Cornwall services 48 and 49 will operate under diversion via Trevu Road and will not serve stops on Mount Pleasant Road and Cadogan Road.
Road Closure – Lodge Hill, Liskeard
29 July to 1 August 2024
Due to roadworks there will be closures on Lodge Hill from the 29 July to the 1 August between the hours of 0930 and 1530. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 73/73A will operate on diversion after Duloe via Dobwalls and the A38 to Liskeard. From Liskeard the reverse will operate. During the closure hours stops at St Keyne, Lodge Hill and Liskeard Station won’t be served.
Road Closure – Beacon Road and Barn Lane, Bodmin
30 July to 1 August 2024
Beacon Road and Barn Lane will be closed between 0730 and 1800 from the 30 July to the 1 August. During the closure period Go-Cornwall services 11 and 26 will be unable to serve stops on Beacon Road and Barn Lane diverting via Higher Bore Street, Dennison Road to Mount Folly and then to Bodmin General Station and Harleigh Road.
Road Closure – Trefula, St Day
31 July 2024
St Day Road will be closed on the 31 July between 0930 and 1530. During the closure period Go-Cornwall service 40 will divert via the A393, Mount Ambrose and the B3298 between Redruth and St Day in both directions and will not serve stops on St Day Road.
Road Closure – Crosstown, Morwenstow
1 to 2 August 2024
During the closure between 0800 and 1630 Go-Cornwall service 217 will be unable to serve the stop by the Bush Inn at Morwenstow on the 1 and 2 August.
Rail Service Disruptions
Network Rail Maintenance
From May, train timetables will only be available for 6 weeks instead of the usual 12 weeks. This is expected to be the case for 6 months due to planned engineering projects across the country.
