Carer's On-Street Healthcare Parking Permit Scheme

About the Healthcare parking permit scheme

This is a scheme to support carers to deliver care services to older and vulnerable people living in our communities . The permit allows carers to park closer to the address they are working in. Being able to park close helps them to have more time for providing valuable caring services to vulnerable residents.

Who can apply

Care organisations are able to apply to Parking Services for approval to join the scheme. Once approved they can request permits for carers employed by them. Individual carers cannot apply on their own behalf and must do so through their employer.

Social Care’s Commissioning Team have a list of their approved care organisations and we will check applications against that. Parking Services will liaise with Social Care regarding approval for any applications from care organisations not on the list. All organisations joining the Scheme must be registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission).

If you believe you might be eligible please email parkingpermitenquiries@cornwall.gov.uk to request information and an application form.

Where parking is allowed

The carers can park for up to one hour on a single or double yellow line when displaying their permit and time clock correctly.

Please note: There are very stringent regulations about where parking is not permitted with the permit.
