Car parks are free from Saturday 16 of January 2021 until 17th May 2021
Government advice urges residents to stay local, and to support essential workers.
During this time we want to make it as easy as possible for essential workers to get to and from work. To support them we have removed parking charges and we will keep car parks free until 17th May 2021 to support high streets, when businesses such as non-essential shops, hairdressers and outside hospitality are set to re-open on 12th April 2021.
You do not need to make payment in any Cornwall Council Pay & Display or pay on foot car park until 17th May 2021.
It is really important to;
- park considerately
- continue to follow government guidance about travel
- follow the car park rules shown on the tariff boards
- do not park in reserved car parks if you do not have a permit.
We offer Multi-use tickets through JustPark. The multi-use tickets provide parking sessions in selected long-stay car parks at the heavily reduced rate of a season ticket.
These tickets could be excellent value for money for you if
- you regularly commute or
- visit certain locations
but don't park every day of the week. This is because each one of your multi-use tickets is only used on the days you actually park.
Each parking session runs for 24 hours on whichever day its required.
By buying a multi-use ticket, you will be able to park from:
- as little as £0.28p a day in Long Rock (Penzance)
- no more than £2.26 in Truro
You will need a JustPark account, and to pre-load it with a minimum amount of £25. Each car park (or set of car parks) where the tickets are available has a daily parking rate. You can choose which you want to buy. Then each day you need to park you simply book a parking session using the JustPark app. The daily rate for that session will be deducted from your account total.
You will need to have downloaded the JustPark app so that you can use one of your sessions
On entering the Pay on Exit car park take a ticket from the entry barrier. Once you have parked, scan the barcode on the ticket on the JustPark app. You will then be prompted to:
- select the car park you are in
- enter the vehicle registration number, and
This is the same as a normal JustPark session. More detailed information can be found in our Pay On Exit Multi-Use sessions step by step guide.
