Government funding confirmed for vital St Austell to A30 Link Road
The Department for Transport has confirmed funding of over £78 million for a new road, with green credentials, to link St Austell to the A30.

Take charge of your batteries and help prevent fires at Cornwall’s rubbish and recycling facilities
Residents across Cornwall are being asked to recycle old batteries to help prevent fires.
When put in general rubbish, old batteries can cause fires in bin lorries and at the sites where rubbish is processed.
Since the beginning of 2023, there have been two fires that were most likely caused by batteries being thrown in with general rubbish. One broke out on a bin lorry and the other at a household waste and recycling cen.....

Cornwall Council warns that violence and aggression towards staff will not be tolerated
Cornwall Council is reminding members of the public that any form of aggression or violence against its staff or contractors will not be tolerated.
The warning comes following incidents at Cornwall’s household waste and recycling centres (HWRCs) which have resulted in some members of the public being banned from all sites.
Due to ongoing police investigations, the council is unable to comment on the specific incidents.

Businesses urged to apply for Good Growth Programme investment

Refugee Resettlement - the current position in Cornwall
2024 in review
2024 has been a really positive year for the Resettlement service. We are now hosting 390 Ukrainians and 18 Afghan families in Cornwall. Altogether we have helped over 1000 people by providing:
