Community Right to Bid
The Localism Act 2011 introduced the Community Right to Bid. It enables certain groups to nominate local land or buildings to be included in theCornwall Council List of Assets of Community Value.
Groups which can nominate assets include:
town councils
parish councils
local voluntary organisations and
community organisations

Having a spring clean or sprucing up your garden ready for summer? If so, you may be planning a trip to your local Household Waste and Recycling Centre in the coming weeks.
As part of its Sorted campaign, Cornwall Council is reminding people to sort their items before they visit the sites so more can be reused and recycled.

Cornwall Council approves budget for 2025/26
Cornwall Council has approved its budget for 2025/26, which will protect frontline services and address the financial challenges facing local government across the country.
The original draft budget recommended from Cabinet earlier this month saw some amendments issued ahead of the meeting, with three proposed savings withdrawn, including the reduction in opening hours for Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Will my pension increase?
Your pension will increase each April, if:
You are aged 55 or over
You are retired on the grounds of ill health (at any age)
You are receiving a widow's, widower's, civil partner's or nominated cohabiting partner's pension
You are receiving a child's pension
Your pension will increase each April in line with the consumer prices index(CPI).We will write to you every April with details of the increase.
