Before you apply

Before applying for home to school transport, please read Cornwall's Home to School Transport Policy 2021-22.

If any of the following apply, please do NOT apply for free home to school transport.  There is a separate application process for children in these categories.

  • Your child has an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan and cannot travel on a school bus or use public transport
    Please contact the Statutory SEN Service.
  • Your child is attending a Child Development Centre (CDC)
    Please contact your child's CDC.
  • Your child is attending an Alternative Provision Academy (APA) and cannot travel on a school bus or use public transport
    Please contact your child's APA.
  • Your child is a Child in Care
    Please contact your Social Worker.

New Starters in September 2022

It is too early to apply for home to school transport in September 2022. We cannot consider applications for transport until School Admissions offer a school place. For pre-application advice on your child's potential eligibility, please email transporteligibility@cornwall.gov.uk . Cornwall’s Home to School Transport Policy for the 2022/23 academic year will be available soon.
