Keep Cornwall Clean

What is Keep Cornwall Clean?

Keep Cornwall Clean is a community initiative led by Cornwall Council to reduce litter, fly‑tipping, and dog fouling across Cornwall. The campaign works with residents, businesses, and volunteers to keep our streets, beaches, and public spaces clean and safe.

Through education, enforcement, and community action, we aim to protect Cornwall’s natural beauty and promote pride in our environment.

What we do

Working closely with Clean Cornwall, we focus on:

  • Street and beach cleaning: regular patrols and clean‑ups across Cornwall
  • Enforcement: Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued for littering, fly‑tipping, and dog fouling
  • Community support: equipment loans and advice for local clean‑up groups

Why it matters

Litter and waste damage Cornwall’s environment, harm wildlife, and spoil the places we love. Keeping Cornwall Clean helps protect our coastlines and makes our communities healthier and more welcoming.

How you can help

  • Volunteer: join a local litter pick or beach clean
  • Organise a litter pick: if you’re interested in organising a litter pick, please visit the Clean Cornwall Litter Picks page for more information. We can loan you equipment to use during your event and also collect the litter you have picked afterwards, as long as the clean‑up was carried out on council‑owned or managed land.
  • Spread the word: share tips and encourage others to Keep Cornwall Clean

For upcoming events and stories, join Clean Cornwall’s ‘Cornwall Litter Pickers’ group on Facebook.
