An initial check will be undertaken of Council information to screen for any known safeguarding concerns related either to
- the individual host
- or the property
Any hosts who are concerned about this process must contact ResettlementService@cornwall.gov.uk
A Safeguarding panel of Cornwall Council staff will meet to discuss any concerns raised through the initial checks, DBS process or through the Home checks.
Sponsors will be contacted by Cornwall Council if further information is required or a sponsorship has been deemed by the professional panel as unadvisable.
Please note this is not a pass or fail checklist.
At the initial home visit proof of ID for the DBS process will be sought.
Please use the guidelines linked below for the necessary ID required.
Housing colleagues will take photographic evidence of ID check to support the DBS process.
If individuals are not present at the housing check or able to provide the necessary ID individuals appointments will need to be arranged for the physical ID check within local offices.
