A Direct Payment puts you in charge of your care and support. It gives you choice, control and independence. It is where a personal budget is paid directly to you by Cornwall Council so you can arrange and pay for your own support.
Your direct payment can only be used for what has been agreed in your care and support plan. You might:
- pay for a support worker or a personal assistant
- pay for a support agency of your choice
- use the money to provide a short break for your carer
