Local services and resources for carers


There are a range of services and activities in Cornwall which can provide advice and support to carers and their families.

The following organisations provide information, advice and support to carers: 

Cornwall Carers Service

Cornwall Carers Service is a partnership of local voluntary and community sector organisations. These are appointed by the Council, in conjunction with the NHS, to support carers in Cornwall. Image of a tree on a green background - Cornwall Carers Service logoThese partners include:

  • Cornwall Rural Community Charity
  • Disability Cornwall
  • Promas
  • Age UK, and
  • Barnardos

who work together to provide a range of support for carers of all ages.

Kernow Community Gateway

Kernow Community Gateway is a partnership of: 

  • local professional
  • voluntary and community sector organisations, and
  • businesses

who support by making a helpline and a wide range of support services available to Cornwall’s residents.

Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC): Offers support for carers. This includes access to grants and community support.

Admiral Nurses: are specialist dementia nurses. They specialise in helping support families that care for someone who has a diagnosis of dementia.
