All fire and rescue authorities assess risks to their local communities.
They identify ways to use resources efficiently to reduce these risks. This is detailed in a Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP). The plan forms a contract between the fire and rescue service and the communities it serves.
Our 2026-2030 CRMP defines our purpose as Serving Cornwall – preventing, protecting, responding. It also outlines how we will deliver against our purpose by focusing on five overarching service priorities:
Communities
Reduce fire and rescue related risk in our communities by delivering protection, prevention and response activities.
People
Develop and maintain a resilient, skilled, diverse and inclusive workforce.
Sustainability
Demonstrate value for money, productivity, and efficiency.
Resources
Modernise and innovate to meet current and future challenges, opportunities and risks, ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all staff.
Improvement
Implement organisational improvements to ensure positive practice, compliance and assurance.
2026-2030 Community Risk Management Plan
We developed our 2026-2030 CRMP by thoroughly understanding the risks of fire, rescue, and road safety in Cornwall. We also consulted and engaged with our community.
Our CRMP is backed by several service-wide strategies. These strategies guide us in different areas, helping us achieve our 2026-2030 priorities.
- Prevention Strategy
- Protection Strategy
- Response Strategy
- Assets Strategy
- Fairness and Inclusion Strategy
Annual statement of assurance
