What will Digital Futures offer?


The Digital Futures consortium comprises 11 partners. Through these partners we will provide training in specialist digital skills. This applies to non-tech businesses, but also advanced digital skills for tech businesses.

We also aim to inspire individuals not currently working, or employed in other sectors, to consider digital careers.

This encompasses:

  • AI
  • Virtual reality
  • Software, data
  • Digital leadership
  • Train the trainer

We aim to support continuous professional development for teachers.

This helps encourage wider participation and ensure reach and long-lasting impact.

The training will deliver:

  • Improved workplace skills
  • Enhanced productivity and efficiency through specialist and advanced digital skills.
  • An expanded talent pool to meet the demand for skilled digital professionals
  • Creation of pathways to digital careers, encouraging wider participation including creating confident teachers.
  • Capacity building and enhanced digital capability for organisations
  • Support for tech businesses with access to skilled digital professionals.

We aim to support improvement of business performance across all industries.

This includes economic priority sectors such as advanced manufacturing and the Createch event.

We also support the upskilling of employees and effective adoption of digital technology.

Who is Digital Futures for?

Anyone and everyone, aged 16+, living in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

This includes those who are:

  • school leavers
  • out of employment
  • underemployed
  • looking to change career or take a new direction after (early) retirement.

Digital Futures is also for those wishing to upskill in their current roles.

It is also for those who want to feel more confident with digital technology.

Aims

Digital Futures aims to provide local organisations with employees who have the digital skills they need. This applies to both in the tech sector and beyond.

For example, we seek to work with schools to inspire the next generation. We want to ignite interest in digital tech careers from an early age.
