Cornwall Site Allocations Development Plan Document

Cornwall Council recently consulted on the (Regulation 19) Cornwall Site Allocations Development Plan Document (Allocations DPD) for a period of eight weeks.  The consultation closed at 5pm 7 August 2017 and no further comments are being accepted.

Although the consultation has finished, all the documents will remain available on this page for the immediate future.

The Allocations Document and all the comments received during the consultation will be submitted to an independent planning inspector in the autumn for his/her consideration. Once the inspector has reviewed them, Cornwall Council will be given a date for an examination in public.

The inspector will assess whether the document meets certain legal requirements  and complies with national plan making legislation, and will indicate whether the plan is sound.  The inspector will also decide the examination programme (issues to be discussed on each day) and who will be invited to speak.

At the end of the examination the inspector’s findings will be forwarded to Cornwall Council. If the Allocations documents are found to be sound, the Council will adopt the plan as council policy.

Further details including the dates for the examination in public will be made available here once known.

The Allocations DPD Document is available either as the whole document (this is a large document and may take time to open depending on your connection speed) or by town chapters. If you only want to view the chapter for an individual town, please refer to the Area Pages section on this page.

The Allocations DPD is supported by a number of evidence documents. As well as those related to the individual towns on the Area pages, there are a number of documents that relate to the whole of Cornwall. These countywide evidence documents include documents like the Sustainability Assessment, Strategic Flood Risk Assessment and Heritage assessments.

Further information can be found on our Frequently Asked Questions page.  If you are unable to find the answer here, please contact us using the details on this page.

The (Regulation 18) public consultation took place during October/November 2016. The pre-submission version (Regulation 19) of the Allocations DPD was endorsed by Cornwall Council’s Cabinet on 16 March 2017 and consulted on between 12 June and 7 August 2017.
