Real Time Passenger Information provides you with information about public transport services in 'real time'. This allows you to see which services are due to your stop and what time they are expected to arrive.
Real Time Passenger Information - Upgrades to Digital Information Screens
Over the coming weeks, we are updating our RTPI screens. We are moving Real Time services to a new provider. Whilst we carry out this work, there may be some disruption to RTPI, this could be minor errors being displayed on screen or it could be that some displays will not be working at all. We will keep disruption to a minimum whilst we move our entire estate. You can still get live bus on your mobile device by using the Transport for Cornwall App.
Bus Services RTPI
The RTPI display includes the Service Number, Destination and a countdown until the arrival of the bus. When the bus is less than a minute away the display will show ‘DUE’ rather than a time. There are around 340 live RTPI signs in Cornwall.

Real Time Information displays are also available at most railway stations within the County.
Mobile Apps
The most up to date times for buses can be accessed on your mobile via a number of transport apps. They use data either direct from the bus operators or from Traveline South West.
First Kernow and Go Cornwall buses also have their own travel apps. These allow you to access bus information in real time and to plan your future bus journey. You can also purchase tickets through these apps.
The Council will shortly be releasing a journey planning ‘Travel Companion App’ which will allow you to:
- plan journeys across all travel modes including bus, rail, ferry and car
- view real time journey information.
Future plans for the app will include:
- ability to pay for travel journeys
- pay for car parking tariffs
- see car parking capacities
- walking and cycling directions.
