Public Liability insurance indemnifies the Council against claims for compensation. Claims are made by members of the public who have suffered a loss due to the negligence of the Council.
There is no automatic right to compensation. Claims will only be settled where the Council could be held legally liable.
There is no geographical restriction on the policy.
