Family Learning

Help yourself; help your child!

If you are a parent or carer of school-age children, family learning might interest you. We take time to explore curriculum content and teaching methods so you and your children can enjoy learning together.

Family learning delivers free courses in schools, family hubs and other community venues across Cornwall and online. Courses usually run for 4 – 6 weeks and sessions are 1 – 2 hours in length.

Courses are designed to help parents and carers understand the school curriculum, support their children's learning and meet other people in a similar situation. Topics may include supporting reading and writing, computer and coding skills, mental arithmetic strategies and written calculations in maths; tutors work flexibly to meet the needs of the group and the school/ partner they are working with. Building confidence, extending knowledge and developing skills are all part of the fun.

"Excellent course, fantastic tutor, great opportunity to get back to learning."
