What is a Repair Café?

A Repair Café is a meeting place where people can come together to:

  • alter or mend clothes
  • fix broken furniture, electrical gadgets, bikes, toys, crockery and more

Want to learn how to:

  • sew on a button?
  • fix a zip on a coat?
  • wire a plug?

These are some of the basic skills that can help us manage day-to-day and extend the life of the things we buy. Repair cafes offer the opportunity to learn something new by chatting with and watching the volunteer repairers.

    • advice on governance
    • venue selection
