Can I recycle it?
Games and toys are not collected as part of your recycling collection.
If your games and toys are beyond repair, it may still be possible to recycle some of the parts if you dismantle them. This includes batteries and battery packs from remote controls which should be removed and recycled at any Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Useful information
If your toys are in good working order you could try to sell them. Toys in good condition can also be taken to a local charity shop, jumble sale or carboot sale.
Bulky waste collection:
You can use our household bulky waste collection service for items that are too big for normal collections.
There is a charge for this service.
Donate or sell
Charity shops are always grateful for donations of unwanted items in good condition. You could also organise a give and take event or give items away via Freecycle, Freegle.
You can donate usable furniture to community projects like:
- RE:SOURCE in Bodmin
- Heartlands Furniture in Pool
- GOFA in Penzance
- Cornwall and Plymouth Furniture Reuse Project.
Or sell your spare stuff at garage sales and car boot sales or on eBay. If you can transport items yourself, most towns have their own auction rooms. They are also a good way of selling and buying second hand items.
