Lighters

Can I recycle it?

Empty disposable lighters are collected as part of your recycling collection.

Empty metal lighters can be recycled at our HWRCs in the metal recycling bank.

If it is not possible to empty the disposable lighters, please do not place them in your recycling bag or rubbish bin as they are flammable and need to be disposed of safely. Instead, please deposit them at a chemical storage container at one of our Household Waste and Recycling Centres (except Dudnance Lane, Pool).

Which container?

Empty disposable lighters go in your red recycling bag for plastic and metal packaging.
