Take to a recycling centre.
- the metal part of bikes can be recycled at one of our Household Waste and Recycling Centres
Cornwall Life Recycle
- accepts donated bicycles in reasonable condition
- bikes are repaired by disadvantaged adults and young people
- refurbished bikes are then given a new home
- based in Camborne, find out more on the Life Recycle website
Bikes to Africa (via Halfords)
- donate unwanted bicycles in reasonable condition (no more than 25% rust)
- drop-off available at participating Halfords stores
- Cornwall location: Halfords, Unit 2a Pentewan Road, St Austell, PL25 5BU

Donate, sell or repair
Before you throw something away or recycle it, could it be reused instead?
You could:
- donate to a charity shop
- donate to a Kernow Reuse Shop (at our HWRCs)
- visit a repair cafe for help fixing or mending items
- give it away on sites like Freecycle, Freegle or Facebook Marketplace
- donate to local community projects like:
- RE:SOURCE (Bodmin)
- Heartlands Furniture (Pool)
- GOFA (Penzance)
- Cornwall and Plymouth Furniture Reuse Project
- Sell items at car boot sales, online (eBay) or through a local auction room
