We are no longer accepting new requests for tiger bag collections. This is because these should only contain non-infectious clinical waste and that can be put in with your normal household rubbish.
Non-infectious waste
You do not need to register for a clinical waste collection service for any of the following items:
- sanitary towels and tampons
- condoms
- gloves and aprons
- incontinence pads
- disposable nappies
- dressings
- catheter bags
- syringes used for food products - no needles
- stoma bags
- PEG tubes and stomach-feeding equipment
These items should be double bagged and put in with your normal household rubbish.
If your rubbish collections have changed to fortnightly and you don't think you'll have enough room for your non-infectious clinical waste in your wheelie bin or sack, you can ask us to review your fortnightly limit. Please visit our About your new bins webpage for more information.
Infectious waste
If you are producing infectious clinical waste (because you have an infectious disease) this cannot be collected by the normal household rubbish collection vehicle. Clinical waste bags and sharps bins are collected by a separate vehicle on a specific round. You can check which types of waste need to be collected on this service on our Clinical waste and sharps bins page.
Register for clinical waste collection
If you need a clinical collection, please register by selecting the relevant option below.
One-off clinical waste collections
If you don't produce much clinical waste and only need a bag collected once in a while, or you need a sharps bin collected, please request a one-off clinical waste collection.
You will need to do this each time you want us to make a collection.
Please note: we will not leave you with a replacement bag or a sharps bin with this service - you will need to obtain these from your healthcare provider or pharmacy.
Once we receive your request, our contractor will contact you by telephone to confirm your collection. Request a one-off clinical waste collection
Weekly clinical waste collections
Please register for our weekly clinical waste collection service if you need an orange or purple clinical waste bag collection every week.
On this service we will leave you the same amount of replacement bags that you ask us to collect when you register.
Once we receive your request, you will receive a letter confirming the start of your collections.

Please us our Contact Us form or the telephone number below if:
- you need to change the location where your clinical waste is left for collection
- you’re going on holiday, or going into hospital, so that we can inform our contractor to temporarily suspend your collections. If you don’t let us know and no waste is left out for a few weeks, we may think you no longer require the service
- you no longer require the service and want your collections to stop
