When to expect the rollout of the new service to reach your area

New food waste collections start in South East Cornwall early April

We're rolling a new waste collection service out across Cornwall area by area in five geographical stages from 2023 to 2025.

Collections have now changed in the Mid Cornwall area. We're currently rolling out the new service in the South East Cornwall and West Cornwall areas:

1. Mid Cornwall
   The new service started in January.
   
   
2. South East Cornwall
   The new service started in April.
   
   
3. West Cornwall
   Information leaflets and new bins delivered between March and June 2024.
   
   New service starts from early to mid July depending on where in West Cornwall you live.

We've chosen to roll the new service out in stages, rather than switching all Cornwall's 280,000 households at once.  This is because these are big changes - for you to adapt to and for us to deliver.

Doing it in stages means we can help any household that needs extra support to adapt.

We've organised the order of the rollout around the expected completion dates of building works.  This is necessary for us to be able to provide the new service at our various waste management sites across Cornwall.

The rollout areas roughly follow the old district council boundary lines.

You can check if you're in the current rollout area by entering your address in the My Area section of our website.

If you are in a current rollout area you'll see a message that says waste collections in your area are changing and to expect delivery of your bins in the next three months.
