We collect your commercial waste at the same time as the the street's household waste using the same vehicles.

This makes our service efficient, reliable, and better for the environment. It also allows us to offer you a discount if your business is run from a council tax-rated property.

Step 1: Choose your collection service

We offer three collection service options. Choose the one that works best for your business.

1. Standard Commercial Service
Our Standard Collection Service provides you with:

a weekly weekday food waste collection
a fortnightly weekday recycling collection, and
a fortnightly weekday general rubbish collection

We make all three collections on the same day as we collect household waste from your street.

2. Commercial Plus Option 1

a weekly Saturday general rubbish collection only

3. Commercial Plus Option 2

a weekly Saturday general rubbish collection
a weekly weekday food waste collection on the same day we collect the street’s household food waste
a fortnightly weekday recycling collection on the same day we collect household recycling from your street

Step 2: Choose your contract payment option

1. Annual contract

Payment is by Direct Debit taken quarterly in advance. We’ll collect your commercial waste all year round.

2. Seasonal flexi contract

Payment is by Direct Debit and taken monthly in arrears.

We can collect your commercial waste all year round, or you can tell us when you want your collections to pause and restart again. For example you can start your collections on 1 April and pause them on 30 September.

Pausing and restarting your collections is easy - just email us at commercialwaste@cornwall.gov.uk and cornwallmuni.commercial@biffa.co.uk
Once you pause your service, we won’t charge you for collections again until the date you tell us to restart them.
You need to give us one month's notice when you want your collections to pause or restart, and they'll need to run for a minimum of one month

Both our annual and seasonal flexi contracts run for 12-months and require a three month notice period should you wish to cancel your contract. Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions

Step 3: Choose your bin type and size

We can’t collect your commercial waste if it’s presented in your own bins. Our crews won’t be able to tell that you’re a commercial waste collection customer who’s paid for the service.

For your commercial rubbish, we offer you a choice of containers that come in a range of sizes to suit the needs of your business.

For general rubbish choose from:

1. A wheelie bin:

240 litres 1063mm x 713mm x 575mm
or 660 litres 222mm x 778mm x 1371mm
or 1100 litres size 1315mm x 1085mm x 1372mm

2. A 180 litre protective sack and single use 90 litre bags

For recycling:
We give you a set of our standard household recycling containers including:

a 34 litre blue bag for paper
a 55 litre black box for glass
a 23 litre green food waste caddy or a 120 litre food waste wheelie bin

And you choose from either:

60 litre single use bags for cardboard, plastic and tins
or a 240 litre wheelie bin

We add a commercial waste collection tags or labels to your recycling containers so our crews know you’ve paid for a commercial waste collection.
We provide recycling collections as a fixed part of our commercial waste service. This means the price of our commercial waste collections stay the same, even if a customer chooses not to recycle.

This is because the Government has recently brought in new Simpler Recycling legislation that means businesses must now recycle any food, plus metal, plastics, paper, card, cartons and glass they generate from their premises.
