Cornwall Local Plan Timetable
Cornwall Council is required to publish a timetable for production of its new Local plan. It must follow regulations made by Government Those Regulations are the Town and Country Planning (local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026. It must also contain prescribed content under section 15b of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
Cornwall Council has given notice of its intention to commence preparation of a new local plan, which is to be referred to as the Cornwall Local Plan (CLP).
The Local Plan will cover the whole area of Cornwall.
The CLP will set out the spatial vision and strategic objectives for the future development of Cornwall. It will contain policies and site allocations to deliver these objectives and areas suggested for policies in the NPPF, and a framework for monitoring and implementation. A scoping consultation will be undertaken to inform its detailed content.
The CLP will include strategic policies on minerals and waste.
The Council does not intend to prepare any supplementary plans at this time.

This timetable satisfies the requirements of Regulations 4 and 5 of the Town and Country Planning (local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 and section 15b of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. It will have effect from 29th April 2026.
