Community events
To help foster vibrant, safe, and supportive communities Cornwall Council's Resettlement Service works in partnership with:
- charities
- volunteers
- residents
- community groups and
- schools
on various events and campaigns throughout the year.
“There’s a huge amount of energy and activity bubbling through our grassroot organisations. We are determined to nurture their capacity to play a leading role in resettling refugees.”

Fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine
Saturday 28 February, from 2–5pm, the Moresk Centre in Truro. Free entry.
Join us at Line of Light - a community gathering which is open to all. This event celebrates Ukrainian culture, creativity and connection. And it marks the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full‑scale invasion of Ukraine. The afternoon will offer a welcoming space for all. Arts, short films, refreshments and activities for all ages will be available.
Homes for Ukraine support drop-ins
Thank you to those of you who have attended our free community drop-in events to:
- connect with local support networks
- speak directly to the Council's Resettlement team
- gain advice from voluntary groups
- participate in activities and enjoy refreshments
We have met over 200 of you at the events which have been hosted with community groups across Cornwall.
Throughout 2026 we will be running more community-based drop-ins sessions across the county, so look out for details soon.
