Resilience within Communities
At the very beginning of an emergency, communities may have to cope on their own until help arrives. Community emergency planning and resilience is about using local people, resources and knowledge during an emergency. This could be before, during or after the emergency services arrive. It involves looking and planning for things that could happen during an emergency so communities can help themselves.
Cornwall Council, the Environment Agency and the voluntary sector help communities to be prepared to respond to an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness Newsletter
The newsletter gives simple tips to help our community get ready for emergencies. It tells us why we need a plan for our community and how to use warning messages. Also, how to get our homes and emergency kits ready, what to do if the power or water stops, and how to help people who might need extra support.
