St Columb Library


St Columb Library is managed by St Columb Major Town Council, supported by Cornwall Council.

St. Columb Library is more than just a library we are open to all as a community area to have a chat, a hot drink, meet a friend, play with your child, sit and look at a book or do office/school/collage work.

  • St Columb Facebook
  • Laughter Crafters – Mondays 2 to 4pm
    Friendly and sociable get together for anyone who likes to make things or interested in different crafts. Bring your craft resources along and enjoy making alongside others.
  • A Taste of Cornish – Wednesdays 11.15 to 12.15
    A free introduction to the Cornish Language. A nice easy, fun session giving you the basics to the Cornish Language.
  • Lego club every Saturday from 10am
    Explore your creativity with Lego
  • Rhyme Time: Every Tuesday 9.30 to 10am. Term time only
    Songs, rhymes and musical instruments for your under 5’s.

Accessibility

  • Limited parking next to the library with five spaces for up to an hour, no disabled spaces
  • Disabled access is through the main entrance
  • The library is all on one level

  • One public computer available for one hour sessions, free of charge
  • Free WiFi available
  • Scanning, Printing and Photocopying available – A4 black and white 10p per side, colour 50p per side. A3 black and white 20p per side, colour £1 per side.
  • Self Service (Staff available to help if required)
  • Book Sale - Donations
  • DVD hire – free of charge
  • Jigsaw Puzzle lending – free of charge
  • Tea and Coffee facilities – Donations

Council payments and services 

  • National Concessionary bus pass applications are quick and easy to apply for online.  
  • Recycling bags and boxes can be ordered online. Please use the request recycling equipment / recycling containment online form.
  • Council Payments. Payments for Council services cannot be taken at this location. This includes Council Tax or Business Rates. However there are a range of PayPoint and Post Office sites that accept both cash and card payments. Most Post Offices still accept cheques at no extra cost.  Your account will be updated overnight. Many PayPoint stores have longer opening hours, often including weekends.
